  1. An impossibly cute owl. It was common in the area, with a couple of pairs living in and around the village. But the best look I got was in the forest, with this individual, who was being mobbed by several passerines and suddenly perched up on a branch practically at eye-level. Posted 7 years ago

The ferruginous pygmy owl is a small owl that breeds in south-central Arizona and southern Texas in the United States, south through Mexico and Central America, to South America into Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
