The white-bellied wren is a species of bird in the family Troglodytidae. It is monotypic within the genus ''Uropsila''. It is found in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico,
where its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and heavily degraded former forest.
