Purple Crab
Land terrestrial crab, possibly from the genus Arachnothelphusa. Carapace mostly brown/dark brown in colour with hints of purple on legs and claws. Saw several of them, usually in crevices of tree trunks which collects waters and at night time, they come out, even to the ground, to feed.
Update - This crab, Arachnothelphusa merarapensis was newly described in the year 2015.

Arachnothelphusa merarapensis is a species of tree-hole dwelling freshwater crab from the family of Gecarcinucidae.
