Olive ridley sea turtle - closeup, Bahia Solano, Colombia At the lodge in Bahia Solano, local volunteers search the beach every day for turtle eggs to prevent them from being eaten by stray dogs that roam the beach. Next, they are safely incubated in a guarded patch of sand within the garden of the lodge. As soon as these little cuties hatch, anybody can join in a release ceremony where they are release about 50m from the ocean, letting them go in on their own, yet not hampered by predators. <br />
