A cold and sunny February day. Beautiful weather for photography. Laying on the ground and trying to get a better viewpoint to shoot an early Crocus my attention has been attracted by tiny flies flying around for a couple of seconds and landing in the high, flattered down dry grass, crawling among the stalks and leaves. I guess I have disturbed them…
Small, about 5-6 mm tiny fly. This one is a male. Females are a bit bigger and have some sexual dimorphism, but I couldn’t get a female. They were quite difficult to be photographed. It took me almost an hour to get this shot.
