Green Ground Beetle I spotted this ground beetle as it appeared to be wrestling a millipede. These beetles are predacious, but in this instance, the millipede was able to crawl away before being eaten by the beetle. The beetle's entire dorsal surface was a brilliant, metallic green. It was approximately 12 mm long. Chlaenius,Chlaenius sericeus,Fall,Geotagged,Green Ground Beetle,United States, beetle Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro

  1. These kind of scenes make you empathize with insects. It's hard to imagine for us something 20 times larger than you trying to eat you. Posted 7 years ago
    1. Definitely. I almost intervened, but the beetle has to eat too. I couldn't bear to watch though ;P Posted 7 years ago
