Fawn .:. Young Roe deer
While my two colleagues were hunting for these beautiful male roe deer, I was quite distracted by the view of this young fawn.
So I forgot about the bucks and focused on this youngster.
In order to not disturb the mother and calf, I carefully crawled towards the couple.
And when I finally reached a good distance.....all I could see was some moving grass...;)
So it took some more patience to silently wait for that one moment the little one would show me these beautiful brown eyes...

The Western Roe Deer is a Eurasian species of deer. It is relatively small, reddish and grey-brown, and well-adapted to cold environments. Roe deer are widespread in Western Europe, from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia, and from the British Isles to the Caucasus. It is distinct from the somewhat larger Siberian roe deer.
