The Large Pencil-tailed Tree Mouse - Chiropodomys major is a small size mouse with a very long tail.
Saw this guy climbing up the small tree during a night walk, it stopped for a few minutes allowing me to get close to within a feet to take this picture.

They are endemic to the island of Borneo.

      Yes, I was surprised that I was able to get so close to it, it kind of freeze at that branch for a few minutes. I started taking pics of it like 2 meters away and then get closer and closer for more shots :) Posted 7 years ago

The Large pencil-tailed tree mouse

The large pencil-tailed tree mouse or greater pencil-tailed tree mouse is a species of arboreal rodent in the family Muridae. It is endemic to Borneo where it is only known from Sabah and Sarawak , although it is likely to also occur in Kalimantan.
