Nepalese Whiskered Bat/Wall-roosting Mouse-eared Bat - Myotis muricola
This guy wasn't too happy when he had to be handled (collected) for measurements.
I was part of an expedition team doing a survey of bio-diversity of Mt. Lucia which includes a group of Bat researchers from 2 local Universities who joined the expedition to help documents species of Bats that can be found from the Mountain and also to give their students some field experience in collecting bats using mist nets and subsequently collecting data about them. All bats collected were eventually released.

The wall-roosting mouse-eared bat, or Nepalese whiskered myotis is a species of vesper bat whose type locality is Nepal.

But this one, I was able to get close to it within 1 cm, through the glass window pane, that picture was posted separately and it was natural, before the Bat team came to catch it and do some measurements etc. Posted 7 years ago
