Had I known how uncommon it is, I would have switched to macro. A spectacular species endemic to Colombia. I'm seeing only a handful of photos of this species online, probably because they typically hide in the undergrowth but also because this part of Colombia has not always been safe to visit.

Pseudohaetera mimica, the Mimic Phantom, is a butterfly in the Pseudohaetera genus that is endemic to Colombia. It is found only in deeply shaded areas of forest. It occurs at elevations between about 1400-2000m.
