  1. Last time I tried with my 50mm I had a run for it:)
A joke of course, but hey, my 85mm doesn't do this trick either:)

  2. I like the white hairs on its belly, it looks like its fatiqued by all the recent heat. Posted 13 years ago
    1. Its more dangerous than it is cute :)

Regarding the white hair, I believe it is there for reasons of camouflage. When looing down on the leopard, the dark back fur blends with the ground. When looking up to the leopard, the white fur blends in with the sky. You see this pattern with birds and sea creatures as well.

  3. I stand corrected, I did not know that. Maybe its good that I never encountered these colours from close by:) Still a bit cute though, be it from a longer distance:) Posted 13 years ago

The leopard is one of the five "big cats" in the genus "Panthera". It is a member of the Felidae family with a wide range in regions of sub-Saharan Africa, West Asia, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia to Siberia. Fossil records found in Italy suggest that in the Pleistocene it ranged as far as Europe.
