  1. This snake was hanging over a small frog pond and was watching one green frog in particular in a nature face-off. The snake gave up after a few minutes, so the frog lived to see another day. Posted 7 years ago

The Common Garter Snake is a snake indigenous to North America. Most garter snakes have a pattern of yellow stripes on a brown or green background and their average length is about 50 cm, maximum about 125 cm.
