Herbaceous 2-3 ft. tall plant in the plantain family (Plantaginaceae) with opposite, oblong leaves that are serrated. Flowers growing in spikes are two-lipped and white to pink, deepening to purple towards the tips. Their resemblance to turtleheads is reflected in the genus name &quot;chelone,&quot; which is greek for &quot;tortoise.&quot;<br />

Description:
