The plate fish, ''Bothus lunatus'', is a flounder of the genus ''Bothus'', from warmer parts of the Atlantic, including the Caribbean. It is sometimes known as the peacock flounder, leading to easy confusion with the rather similar ''Bothus mancus'' from the Indo-Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a length of 46 centimetres .
