  1. Nice series of marine species! Posted 7 years ago
    1. Thanks! I got myself a waterproof case for my little point and shoot, so from now on I will be able to take pictures every time I dive. Next step: get some underwater lights, to get back warm colors in the shots! Posted 7 years ago
      1. I was wondering about your setup, thanks for beating me to it :)
I did notice the blue tone and was wondering if it was a white balance setting, but you say it's a lack of light?

        1. Yup, a lot of these photos were taken at a depth of about 15 meters. By then, red and orange wave-lengths from sunlight have been mostly absorbed by the water, which results in the blue/green cast you see in my photos. The deeper you go, you worse it gets. I'm really a newbie in this field, but you can ask Albert or some of the other serious underwater photographers here, and I'm fairly sure a lot of their gorgeous shots were taken using underwater strobes. 1. I'm less than a newbie, that's why I asked. I was wondering if a white balance change would make tones better, but I suppose that just creates another uniform tone. Posted 7 years ago
