    1. Indeed, most photos of this species seem to be on a pin. Nice find, which shows the power of sharing and investing time in identification. I like to think there are millions of photos of rare species sitting on harddrives or being unidentified, the owner not realizing how rare the encounter really was. Posted 7 years ago
      1. I have no doubt you're right! I think part of it is an education issue. We're not giving children enough curiosity about the diversity of the natural world. So we get people who can appreciate the beauty of wild animal or a plant (hell, if everyone were capable of only that, it would still be progress!), but after they've taken a photo, they're not interested in finding out more about it, even something so basic as its name!
