    1. Thanks! It was very cooperative, and landed on the groud right next to me and just sat there for a while. All the more lucky, since it was the only one of that species I saw the whole time I was there. Posted 7 years ago

The Florida purplewing is a widespread species of nymphalid butterfly, occuring from Florida (hence its name), south to Argentina.
