Gold-ringed tanager, Tatama National Park The cloudforest has so much beauty to offer that we almost forgot we were also on the lookout for some target birds. Such as this one, the Gold-ringed tanager. Endemic to western Colombia, known from only three locations, where its on the decline. The spanish version of the common name is Tangara del Tatam&aacute;, Tatama Tanager, referring to its very small distribution.<br />

The gold-ringed tanager is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is endemic to Colombia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
