    2. Hmmm, I can't find that photo, so for now this will have to do.

      The caterpillars stick together and can cover entire branches. It's quite spectacular if you spot a really large aggregation!

I'm having trouble finding any such species from Madagascar, so this will likely remain unidentified. This sighting freaked out all others. The Giant Silk Moth is a moth of the Saturniidae family. It is also known as the Giant Silk Moth. It is found mainly in South and Central America, from Mexico to Bolivia, and Ecuador to south-eastern Brazil.
