Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 1700 to 2800 meters as a cool to cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with a stem enveloped by imbricating sheaths giving rise to linear, conduplicate towards the base leaves that blooms on a cluster of erect, short single flowered inflorescence holding the flowers close to the leaf base.
