  1. Probably a Coelogyne sp. It is growing on the tree, isn't it? Posted 7 years ago, modified 7 years ago
    1. Yes, its growing on a tree which is covered in Moss.
The Orchid Flower is around 1.5 -2 cm.
Its also a small plant, as you can see the stalk is around 15 cm long and a few small leafs.

      1. The problem is that there are too many similar Coelogyne species and I am not sure which one this can be. Posted 7 years ago
        1. No worries, not all observations can be identified to species level.
          Thanks

  2. This looks like some Coelogyne species, but it is actually Epigeneium longipes from Malaysia and Sumatra. The raceme can carry 3-5 flowers.

The World Checklist of Selected Plant Families has lumped Epigeneium in with the large genus Dendrobium, thus Den. longipes. I recognise Epigeneium as distinct as the plant and floral morphology can be easily recognised. In addition, Epigeneium do not hybridise readily with other Dendrobium.
