
Stick Insect, Phasmid - Asceles tanarata tanarata
This is a sub-species of Asceles tanarata tanarata discovered from the high altitude mossy forest of Mt. Brinchang, around 1,800 - 2,000 masl. This small sized female is around 4 cm and has false-wings.
2 other known sub-species - Asceles tanarata amplior is known from Fraser's Hill and Asceles tanarata singapura is recorded from Singapore and Johor. This other 2 sub-species have bigger full wings.
