  1. Great camouflage of this fish, in the small photo on the homepage I only saw it's two eyes. Posted 13 years ago, modified 13 years ago
  2. A fine entry for masters of camouflage:

  3. Tony, is this fish actually out of the water or is it very shallow there? Must be quite some job ,camouflaging oneself like that but keeping the eyes clean.. Posted 13 years ago

The plate fish, ''Bothus lunatus'', is a flounder of the genus ''Bothus'', from warmer parts of the Atlantic, including the Caribbean. It is sometimes known as the peacock flounder, leading to easy confusion with the rather similar ''Bothus mancus'' from the Indo-Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a length of 46 centimetres .
