    1. Hi wildflower. This is the only view I have. I agree that it doesn't look exactly like the monodactyla and is probably one of the many other species. I looked again at Pterophoridae but I can't find a better match. I wil the leave monodactyla name till someone finds the right match.

  2. Hard to tell exactly what species this is from this angle but the colouring would rule out Common Plume (Emmelina monodactyla) which is a uniform white. I think it could be any of a number perhaps Beautiful or Goldenrod Plume. Posted 9 years ago
    1. Thanks for helping out. I have checked both species and they are hard to keep apart. On photos of the Beautiful plume I see exactly the same black/white color change on the wing edge. I changed the name to that of Beautiful plume moth (amblyptilia acanthadactyla).

"Amblyptilia acanthadactyla" is a moth of the family Pterophoroidea that can be found in Europe. It is also known from Iran and Georgia. The wingspan is 17–23 millimetres. The moth flies nearly year round. The larvae feed on various low growing plants.
