    Abdera quadrifasciata / düsterkäfer
@Joost Thissen: am i right? it is not possible to identify via the link above

    1. Although you didn't ask me, I think your identification is correct. The only problem is that there is no english wikipedia page to link it to, but that's not your fault.

Interesting name for the specie by the way. When I first looked at it, I thought you randomly hit your keyboard :)

      1. @fchristant ;-) thank your for your confirmation. Joost helped me a lot to identify species in the past. so it was my first idea to ask him. his knowledge is enormous. Posted 13 years ago
        1. I agree and also this time it turns out he's doing an excellent job :) Posted 13 years ago
      2. @Ferdy, sorry to correct you, but it doesn't even look close to the quadrifasciata. This is the Lonhhorn Beetle (Leptura Maculata), or 'Gefleckter Schmalbock' in german.

@Karin. Thanks for the compliment about my knowledge. It is not that I know that much by head. I just find it a challenge to browse the internet to find the specie names and more information.
I recognized this Schmalbock immediatly because I had fotographed it myself before. (also posted on Jungledragon)

        1. thank you, Joost. I searched also to find it out, but you are much more better than me. it is not only a compliment, for me you are a big help with all the things you know about our bugs and flies. Posted 13 years ago
          1. @Karin. Thanks for the compliment

@Ferdy. It does indeed look almost identical to the Strangalia quadrifasciata, but not the Abdera quadrifasciata / düsterkäfer which was mentioned. Confusing names.

        2. I am happily correct, no need to apologize :) Posted 13 years ago
