1. Was going through booklice and embarrassed I missed this one, it's so awesome! Posted 4 years ago
    1. Yes. peculiar li'l species. I was especially delighted with the nephew from La Palma at the time :o)
Cerobasis longicornis Hmpppfff ... took this to be the nymph of Marcenendius fortunatus, as I found it together with an adult of that species, but closer inspection shows that cannot be right. Should be some Cerobasis this - with a few species to choose from on La Palma ... needs further work ...
Work done :o) : Cerobasis longicornis based on the somewhat larger wing-stubs with brown spots and the colour pattern on the legs.
As this seems to be the first photo of the species I can easily find on the web, I've decided to also upload a small collage with some shots of details:
2. Wow what eyesight you have Posted 4 years ago
    1. Once you start paying attention to the small critters it quickly becomes impossible to not see them anymore ... not sure that I would advise to go there ... if you see it, you'll want to know what it is and try and photograph it *rolleyes* But believe you me - good eyesight has _very_ little to do with it (in my case) ... a new set of glasses is about two years overdue ... ;o) Posted 4 years ago
