Golden jackal This was all it gave to photograph. At first, I thought it to be a stone or something, but a sudden movement changed my impression. A stone cannot move on its own ;-) Then seeing our boat, it peeped it's head even further outside and then slowly went inside the jungle. The golden jackal, also known as the common jackal, Asiatic jackal or reed wolf is a canid native to north and northeastern Africa, southeastern and central Europe, Asia Minor, the Middle East and southeast Asia. It is classed by the IUCN as Least Concern, due to its widespread range in areas with optimum food and shelter.
