Paropsine Leaf Beetle (Paropsis geographica)
A reddish-brown leaf beetle with cream spots. Elytra were pitted. The wiggly pale patterns on the outer margins of the pronotum gave it a scalloped look. The beetle would have been about 14 mm long.
Spotted on Manna Gum ( Eucalyptus viminalis)
That's two leaf beetles in two days - can't believe it !

Paropsis geographica is an Australian species of leaf beetle. This species is similar to P. marmorea and P. aegrota and P. lutea. They need a close comparison between the placement of the three main (largest) blotches on each elytra.

They are really, really, really similar but distinguished by this feature alone, (and different distribution which largely overlaps). However, they are two species according to dissection so we must be pedantic.
