  1. One of my favorite birds. What were you doing in Georgia - is it worth a trip? Posted 7 years ago
    1. I was visiting in friends in Tbilisi, and doing some hiking in the Caucasus. I can absolutely recommend a visit! It's beautiful, has very diverse landscapes, incredibly friendly people, good food, it's quite cheap, not too touristy yet, but easy to get around. Posted 7 years ago
  2. Lovely picture and the location sounds great. Posted 7 years ago

The European bee-eater is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. The genus name "Merops" is Ancient Greek for "bee-eater", and "apiaster" is Latin, also meaning "bee-eater", from "apis", "bee".
