Through the Grass This is the same young cottontail rabbit that was rescued off of a busy highway just a few weeks prior, along with its sibling. Along with their mother, both are seen almost daily, bouncing around freely in our back yard. The eastern cottontail is a New World cottontail rabbit, a member of the family Leporidae. It is one of the most common rabbit species in North America.
