It flew several times nearby to attract attention, and then landed 10 meters away from me, pretending to be wounded, rolling on the ground with his wings hanging as if they were broken. It shows that it is easy prey. As I approached, it flew a little further and the show began again. I guess it&#039;s the male, while the female is in the nest somewhere behind me. A little smart fallow!<br />

  1. You seem to be doing really well with the water birds, Jivko! Got any tips to share for the rest of us? Posted 8 years ago
    1. I am sorry, I have missed this question, Ferdy! But it is right time now to answer it.
I used to go to the same place - water ponds, marshes, dams, etc. - several times. Watching the birds and trying to locate places they like the most. Then next day I go early morning, before sunrise, find a suitable place, lay down, or sit on a small folding chair if appropriate bushes or reeds are around, cover myself with camouflage and wait, wait, wait.... Until a dog walker or an angler shows up and spoils everything! -:)

The Little Ringed Plover is a small plover. Adults have a grey-brown back and wings, a white belly, and a white breast with one black neckband. They have a brown cap, a white forehead, a black mask around the eyes with white above and a short dark bill. The legs are flesh-coloured and the toes are all webbed.
