  1. Always perfect in flight photos, and a new species too - great job! You make it look so easy... Posted 8 years ago
    1. Yep, did a very small hike 2 weeks ago and spend 30 minutes trying to capture one like this, not a single usable shot. Posted 8 years ago
      1. I spent almost three hours to achieve two series of shots, three or four in focus... The ratio is there ;) But then again, this is very different from one species to another. Aeshna's, judging by my scarce experience are very "not so difficult" to capture while they are on patrol. Far more difficult is to spot a copula and capture it. Cheers, my friend! Posted 8 years ago
        1. It is somewhat comforting to know that you spend that much time :)
I do understand what you mean with the patrol, some species have predictable flight patterns.

          1. Yes, this one was on patrol over a pond. Most of the time it was possible to see all sorts of behavior, mostly on patrol, but also hunting (very hard to capture), or defending territory from other males (nearly "impossible" to capture)... the patrol flight pattern is much more predictable.
