mulga parrot (Psephotus varius) This was a sim lorikeet-like parrot with most of its body a lovely emerald green. There was a small patch of yellow above the beak and a bar of yeallow on the wings. The back of the neck had a patch of red and the lower belly showed some orange. <br />
Tail feathers and tips of wings were tinged purple. <br />
The bill was a blue-grey edged with black.<br />
Spotted on open scrubland in a national park -New South Wales.<br />
