Saw this Mangrove Monitor Lizard - Varanus indicus at Ahe Island in semi-forested area. Lots of them. The locals eats them but on the small island of Ahe, they are not allowed to do so as it was designated by them as protected area for tourists.

''Varanus indicus'', also known as the Mangrove Monitor, Mangrove Goanna, or the Western Pacific monitor lizard, is a member of the monitor lizard family with an enormous distribution from northern Australia and New Guinea to the Solomon Islands, Marshall Islands, Caroline Islands, and Marianas Islands. It grows to lengths of 3.5 to 4 feet .
