    1. You do make me doubtful. Our guide was pretty sure about this one and I'm seeing similar observations like this one:

      The bill is a strong point though. Not sure what to do know lol.

      1. Well, your 3 other photos are clearly umbrellabirds. But in that other photo you linked, and this one:
        http://10000birds.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Long-wattled-Umbrellabird_1521.jpg
        look in particular the length of the tail vs the width of the wings, and compare with your photo.
        Just upload it on birdforum or inaturalist and you'll get a definite answer!

The greater ani is a large bird in the cuckoo family. It is a breeding species from Panama and Trinidad through tropical South America to northern Argentina. It is sometimes referred to as the black cuckoo.
