  1. I am not sure about this one - it is either another High Brown Fritillary (Argynnis adippe) or a Niobe Fritillary (Argynnis niobe).

      1. If you don't have another photo where the underside of the wings is more clearly visible, just pick one. It is not a Boloria euphrosyne, that's for sure. Posted 11 years ago

The Pearl-bordered Fritillary is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. Like other species of fritillary, the males have special scent glands on their wings so that they can be recognised by females of their own species and therefore find a suitable partner.
