This female Phasmid - Phasmotaenia sanchezi is around 18-20 cm body length but she has tiny wings of only around 1 cm!

    1. The tiny wings are non-functional in the sense that it is not capable of flight.
      But she is able to open and close the wings at will, like normal wings.

Phasmotaenia sanchezi is a species of Phasmid from the family of Phasmatidae.

Another similar looking species was described by a team of German & Filipino Taxanomist as Phasmotaenia elongata Zompro & Eusebio, 2000. This was however considered the same as Phasmotaenia sanchezi by Hennemann & Conle. 2009.
