      1. Looking at the colours of this wing, it could be one. Is this an in flight shot?
        Proud to be a butterfly Vanessa atalanta, a recently emerged specimen that led me to spend a few moments in their company. <br />
One the most photographed species all over the world, for sure the species that I too photographed the most, yet one of the most beautiful to contemplate...<br />

The Red Admiral is a well-known colourful butterfly, found in temperate Europe, Asia and North America. The Red Admiral has a 45–50 mm wing span. The species is resident only in warmer areas, but migrates north in spring, and sometimes again in autumn.
