  1. The little egret has a dark bill, black legs and yellow feet. This is either an intermediate or a great egret.

      1. Hmmmm those are always a bit tricky but I think your photo is good enough for a definitive ID. The key feature is the gape, which stops below the eye in intermediate egrets and extends farther back in great egrets. Yours is an intermediate. The shortish bill is another good clue. The intermediate egret, median egret, smaller egret, or yellow-billed egret is a medium-sized heron. Some taxonomists put the species in the genus "Egretta" or "Ardea". It is a resident breeder from east Africa across the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia and Australia.
