    1. Well my macro shots fail most of the time too. Usually it like 5 tries before I am satisfied with the picture and move on.

      Neighborhood is beautifull indeed. I have uploaded a ypicture of the hills around here.

''Platycheirus scutatus'', is a very common species of hoverfly. It is found in many parts of Britain and Europe.

The larvae feed on aphids on low growing plants and trees. Adults feed on a wide range of flowers. They have multiple broods throughout the warmer months and have a very long flight period.
