      1. True - I have hand fed them off the coast of Hawaii. Sounds terrifying and dangerous, but they were more like aquatic dogs than sea monsters. Posted 8 years ago
        1. Yep, there are videos posted at You Tube of divers hand feeding them, most of the time without any problem.

          However, there was one incident of a Caucasian Diver feeding a Giant Moray Eel sausages which he brought in a plastic bag. He was taking his time to pace the feeding, and the Moray Eel was checking out what's in the plastic and eventually bitten off his thumb! Yes, he lost his thumb. He eventually transplanted his second toe to replace his lost thumb!
