Philippines Eagle - Pithecophaga jefferyi is also known as Monkey-eating Eagle and Great Philippine Eagle.
It is the pride of the Philippines, being the national Bird.
This was seen at Philippine Eagle Center at Davao where they have an exhibit and rehabilitation program considering it is a highly endangered species.

They have a captive bred program in Mindanao with intention to release to the wild but those releases have not been very successful; one got electrocuted, one or two were shot by hunters/farmers! Posted 8 years ago
