Common Moorhen in the Seychelles
Ok, a very common bird - but this one was photographed in a very exotic locale, Cousin Island in the Seychelles. In hindsight, I feel a bit sorry for it, among all of the other exciting birds and reptiles (Seychelles Magpie Robin, White tern, Giant Tortoise) this one was a disappointment that it was just the "Common Moorhen".

The Common Moorhen is a bird in the Rallidae family with an almost worldwide distribution. It lives around well-vegetated marshes, ponds, canals and other wetlands.
