
''Apistus carinatus'', the Ocellated waspfish, is a species of wasp scorpionfish native to the Indian and western Pacific oceans. It occurs at depths of from 14 to 60 metres . This species is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries. Handling this fish can be hazardous as the spines of the fins are venomous. This species grows to a length of 20 centimetres TL. This species is the only known member of its genus.
