Shortpouch Pygmy Pipehorse - Acentronura breviperula This Pygmy Pipehorse - Acentronura breviperula are small in size (hence Pygmy), slender and mostly grey to brown colour, taking the colouration of the substrate they are found; mostly among seagrasses, algae and seaweeds.
When I first started diving, one of the thing I wanted to see was Seahorses, which was not too big a deal.
About 2 years after that, I first came across this Pygmy Pipehorse, without knowing what it is, but was very excited as I wasn't aware there was such a thing as Pipehorse. Eventually, I was able to look up the ID book and found that it is called a Pipehorse for the cross between Seahorse and Pipefish.
