Gemsbok in Etosha NP
These are one of my favorite animals - I hace loved them since I saw a picture when I was a little boy. It was wonderful to see them in Namibia, and while not quite as spectacular as in the Nmaib desert, we could see a number of them close up in Etosha NP.

The gemsbok or gemsbuck is a large antelope in the ''Oryx'' genus. It is native to the arid regions of southern Africa, but formerly some authorities included the East African Oryx as a subspecies. Its current population in South Africa is 373,000.
