Flying Dragon
Dragons do exist, in the world of Nudibranch. This small Nudibranch, around 3 cm in length looks like a 'Chinese Dragon'. Body is white in colour with mosaic patterns of yellow, orange and black. This Nudibranch also has eyes, the tiny black spot below the Rhinopores. They are also a swimming Nudibranch by arching their body sideways, they can swim for short distances.
This is one of my favourite Nudibranch from Malapascua and each trip I go there, will make a point to look for them. It is always found at a shallow part of Gato Island, usually less than 5 meters depth, among its food souce; hydroids.
In this occasion, I was able to capture the Nudibranch swimming.

"Bornella anguilla" is a species of sea slug, a nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Bornellidae.
This species is widely distributed throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific. This species can grow up to a length of 8 cm.

This Nudibranch has been known to be 'swimming' although rarely seen. I was quite fortunate this time, first time for me after more than 10 years of seeing this same species and hoping to one day see it swim and taking a pic of it. Posted 8 years ago
