Flying Dragon Dragons do exist, in the world of Nudibranch. This small Nudibranch, around 3 cm in length looks like a 'Chinese Dragon'. Body is white in colour with mosaic patterns of yellow, orange and black. This Nudibranch also has eyes, the tiny black spot below the Rhinopores. They are also a swimming Nudibranch by arching their body sideways, they can swim for short distances.
This is one of my favourite Nudibranch from Malapascua and each trip I go there, will make a point to look for them. It is always found at a shallow part of Gato Island, usually less than 5 meters depth, among its food souce; hydroids.
1. The thought of a nudibranch swimming never crossed my mind, thanks for the educational post, and another gorgeous species! Posted 8 years ago
    1. Thanks, Ferdy :)
This Nudibranch has been known to be 'swimming' although rarely seen. I was quite fortunate this time, first time for me after more than 10 years of seeing this same species and hoping to one day see it swim and taking a pic of it.
