  1. P. lesueurii howitti is a subspecies and we are unable to create a subspecies, therefore P. lesueurii will suffice.

    1. Partly :)
It is possible to create a sub species, simply by creating a species record with the sub species name. However, JungleDragon does not understand a relation between a species and a sub species, and simply sees them all as separate species, without a hierarchy to them.

Creation a sub species (or not) or just using the main species is a choice, we don't have a hard rule for it. Both approaches are fine.

The Australian water dragon is the only species of the genus Intellagama which includes the eastern water dragon (I. l. lesueurii) and the Gippsland water dragon (I. l. howittii) subspecies. It is an arboreal agamid species native to eastern Australia from Victoria northwards to Queensland.
