Black Oystercatcher on the California coast Living in Europe, I was well familiar with the striking black-and-white plumage of the Eurasian Oystercatcher and so thrilled to find that in California, they have an all-black version. Not uncommon but still fun to see. We saw this one at Morro Bay on a trip along the coast.
