Living Ox Beetle This one was alive and wandered into the pool area of the Chichen Itza Hacienda we were staing at (probably to get some water like all of the other bugs and butterflies). The hotel staff thought that we were rather odd, hanging around the pool all day just to photograph and observe bugs! 1. HeHe - indeed, yet many times we have then inspired other guests (especially the kids) to join us around the pool hunting for critters! When I see how easily everyone, but especially children, get inspired by nature, it is just a real shame that so many in the west are so completely detached from this amazing planet of wonders we live on!
